First test night out in our van 😁🚐 Staying closer to where we’re living and booking at campsite so that there were facilities if we needed them.
We booked into #GiantsHead Caravan and Camping near Cerne Abbas.
Arrival day, we found a place to park up, put the levelling ramps under the wheels and we were set up.
Tea was a veggie stir fry with a celebratory drink – it’s been a long trip getting to the van life…but we’ve made it!
We happily ate tea while watching another couple in a small campervan spend 2 hours emptying it, setting up their pop top sleeping area and side awning tent. We’ve definitely made the right choice for us in terms of set up 🥂
Turning up in a field made us think about things like the weather, considering which way the wind & rain were blowing in, parking on grass – would we get stuck.
Few things that we now need to pay attention to – did we need heating on in the morning, what were the humidity readings, which windows to leave open/close overnight.
How did Neo & Poppy get on 🐰🐇 they did really well but at the mo they aren’t huge fans of the van while it’s moving. We found all the areas that needed teeth proofing – Poppy zoned straight in on a cable we’d not spotted under the passenger side dash board. Then we found Neo had got a tick from the grass we’d picked, so we’ve bought a tick remover, guessing that this won’t be the last time one of us gets a friend from being outside so much more.
