Here’s where we spent a couple of hours recently.
When you’re travelling things don’t always go smoothly and Neo developed a cloudy eye over a couple of days. We booked straight into a top rated vet in the area. They checked for glaucoma, but it wasn’t that. They checked for scratches on the eye, nothing. They checked his teeth (the ones he has left – he’s been through a lot this bun) and they were fine. So they think it could possibly be a very early sign of the start of a tumour. We’re to book him in for a scan back in the UK.
Until then he’s on some fun meds – eye drops and a couple of oral syrups – one is the human banana flavour antibiotic, which it turns out he loves A LOT.
They’re very mature buns, so we know that issues are likely to crop up, and we’re happy the vets were so good with him – we think they enjoyed the novelty of a rabbit patient, there aren’t too many pet rabbits over here, just lots of cats and dogs.
