Moved the van to the camping car aire at Duilhac-sous-Peyrepertuse. From the aire we hiked uphill for 45 minutes to Peyrepertuse Chateau. An impressive ruined fortress that has views over the surrounding hills to the other Cathar castles of the region.
A heavy rain storm moved in while we were up at the castle, so we hid in a partially covered room in the castle to eat our picnic until it had gone.
As we walked back down the hill we watched 18 vultures circling overhead, I think they were hoping one of us would slip and fall so they would have a ready meal 🦅
