Last stop in Portugal

Soajo granite granaries

Our last stop in Portugal, and it was a great choice. Soajo is a little village perched up in the hills of the Peneda-Gerês National Park.
It’s famous for its granite granaries of which there are a whole collection by the motorhome parking.
We took a cycle around the area, meeting up with the local cows as they relaxed by the roadside at the top of a climb. We walked down the hillside to the river where there’s a medieval bridge over the clear water and surrounded by shading trees.
We also treated ourselves to a ‘farewell to Portugal’ bar visit for pizza and drinks.
It’s been our first visit to beautiful Portugal, but not our last.
