After Guimaraes we made an overnight stop at the bottom of the Bom Jesus steps.
These 577 steps were built in the early 1800s and take you up to a church at the top.
Devoted pilgrims make the journey up the steps on their knees, we opted for the undevoted version and sped walked to the top to catch the sunset.
