Previously known as the Walk of Death, the El Caminito del Ray has been re-opened with a better record of safety. Reading reviews and watching videos of the visit, Em decided to pass on taking the walk (see Neuf Torrent post back in Sept). It’s about 8km of walk, you enter through a dark tunnel in the cliff, then make your way down to collect your hard hat at the start point. The walk is a wooden plank gang way that hovers over the old “partially intact” concrete way holding onto the edge of the cliff.
At one point on the walk we were joined by over 70 vultures circling overhead, who obviously haven’t got the memo that it’s no longer the walk of death 🦅
