Next stop Montserrat

Montserrat temple

On arrival the car park was heaving. With the bus parking already full, the other tour buses had monopolized 50% of the car parking spaces, leaving cars and motorhomes to fight it out over the remaining spots.
We decided to drive a short way back down the mountain to a picnic spot for the day, we could then drive back up in the evening to find parking and explore.
Early evening found us driving back up the mountain. All the parking is on a slope, so we found the least slope-y space we could and parked up. We had time to pop into the Monastery before it closed, and went up to visit the basillica’s famous Madonna.
After our night at an angle, we felt like a stretch, so walked up to Sant Jeroni, the highest peak on Montserrat, for some amazing views.
